Online Dating versus Real Life Dating

With the start of the 21st century and the Internet, a new era of dating began. Singles are no longer dependent on meeting people at work, on a party or at a friends birthday. They can go online and find countless online dating portals where they can register as a member and start flirting. Let’s have closer look at both dating forms.
Traditional dating is more personal than online dating. Two people meet in real life, feel attracted to each other and agree to go on a drink or out for dinner together once or as often as they keep on finding each other attractive. They establish their relationship via telephone and real meetings which means they are confronted with each others voices and faces straight away. This form of dating allows two people to get to know each other on a very personal level. The advantage of it is that in most cases it is already obvious after the first meeting if there is a deeper mutual interest for each other or if the first date will remain the only one. People who prefer a more anonymous way of getting to know other people might prefer phone conversations before meeting up in person in order to get an impression and wait to be absolutely sure if they like the other person good enough to go out on a date or not. Sometimes the traditional way of dating can safe singles a lot of time. Because instead of writing back and forth many chat messages or e-mails they meet up and know within an instant if the person was worth it or not.
Online dating is a very comfortable way of dating. People don’t have to dress up or even leave their house to start flirting with a million singles from their region and all over the world. They chose one or more dating websites they like and register. They set up a profile which from then on serves as their online face so to speak. If they want, singles can get connected with others within minutes. That’s where the dating wonder begins. People chat, write massages and if they like each other enough, they start calling each other on the phone or meeting each other in person to start the traditional dating phase. The big advantage of online dating is that singles can hide behind their PCs until they are sure about their feelings. There is no commitment and no embarrassing situations like in real life dating, for example when one person notices that he actually wants to escape but doesn’t know how. On the internet, all it takes to get rid of unwanted candidates is one simple click. The disadvantage of online dating is the risk of scams and hoaxes. One can never be 100% if the online friend’s photo is real and if he is telling the truth. But most of the major dating services installed security standards to avoid problems.
